Page history last edited by Heike Philp 9 years, 11 months ago

Present: Letty, Karelia, Almut, HazelDazel, Wynshel, Cybère, Ann, Carol, DeeSnow, Randall, Lloud, Oronque, Loris, Annette, Kip, Kai, Ayman, Lluis.

Recording (1h10min):  http://lancelot.adobeconnect.com/p25olt3vm3b/

Randall explains that he created several HUDs already, one for SLanguages, some for language learning.

To wear it, just right hand mouse click on the inventory item and select attach as HUD or wear.

14 prims used. He made the boxes, and circles and then they are linked altogether.

Images on the button and used photoshop.

Edu I welcome center for example.

Each button takes you to a SLURL.

To edit one of the buttons, edit linked (main build menu) then select face, then edit.

The script to open and close the HUD when you click on it is created with Puppeteer by retracting the position of the buttons and then click on record.

Puppeteer records the closed and open HUD.

This HUD is for using websites and SLURLs.

Each button can give a notecard or maybe even play a sound.

Telecollaboration of American studnets and Spanish students.

You can edit of 'no copy' - to find out how successful the students were at negotiating.

If a student clicks on the item, a list of people nearby appears and by clicking on the persons name, he gets the item.

The HUD can be off the screen. Randall explained how to get it back on the screen - but I didnt quite follow that explanation, however, it is nicely explained in the recording.

Following the question by Cyber how a normal object becomes a HUD in the first place, Randall demonstrated how a normal box can become a HUD.

Next meeting on how to create a holodeck, Sun 1st June 1pm SLT / 8pm GMT.
