GLOSSARY FOR EMOTING

Experienced Role Players (even native speakers) recommend to start by using an online thesaurus.

I personally like to use Word Thesaurus for both French and English minimised to the thesaurus column on the right handside of my viewer.

Please feel free to add your own. The colours below indicate the language register and frequency, please add frequent words unless you are working on a special language project with your students.

(INT) = intransitive verbs

Black = Very common, neutral language register

Blue = common, colloquial

Red =common, more academic

Green = less frequently used

Just be aware though that you should not take too much time in responding to an action so simple is always best..
